I wrote a book recently. It is titled “It Don’t Take No Mental Heavyweight to Figure It Out”. It’s a workbook. The subtitle is “A Common Sense Guide to Living”. I’m pretty excited about it. I look at it as my life coaching debut.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not a life coach. I don’t have any psychology or sociology or social work degrees. But I have a whole lot of common sense. And things that seem to be really difficult to some people seem pretty easy to me. I didn’t have these skills my whole life (or maybe I did and didn’t really recognize them) but in this second half of my life I think I can help with certain aspects that seem hard for people.
There are 5 sections to this workbook. The first one is “Dreams”. I think that dreams are so necessary. I’m not just talking about your goals and dreams, I’m talking about what you dream about too. Then it is “Beliefs”. I think you have to believe in something, even if it is just a higher being that does’t have a name. “Lifestyle” is an important part of the book. Everyone has an idea of what their lifestyle should be like. And the last one is “Money” because as much as we don’t think that money has anything to do with our lives, it really does.
When I was writing this book, I was just writing. Then it came the time to put it together, to organize it. And these are the items that I wrote about. So I organized the book this way and went with it. Another thing I did was to find “quotable quotes” that pertained to what I was writing about. Some of them are really good. Some of them are all right.
The thing about this book though is that we all have life’s wisdom to offer each other. We need to share this information. My daddy used to say “It don’t take no mental heavyweight to figure it out”. That made sense to me. I hope some of what I have to offer in my book does as well.
